Hope all you mommies had a wonderful mother’s day!

Chill baby
Ed let me sleep in and when I came downstairs I was greeted with a beautiful picture that Maren painted for me. Of course I think it is beautiful and so thoughtful of Ed to help Maren with it.
Mother’s Day got me thinking of how busy everyone’s lives are. We go, go go!
A few months ago I heard a talk on “keeping rhythm”. Since then I started to pay more attention to the rhythm in our life. We tend to be on the go, even more so on the weekends. Monday rolls around and we are tired, but we should be refreshed and ready to take on the week!
We all need to take a Personal Sabbath (a day of rest). Whatever it is that you believe in, create your own Sabbath.
Embracing silence and solitude gives us perspective and increases awareness.
Wayne Muller wrote in Sabbath: Restoring the Sacred Rhythm of Rest, “Our perpetual state of busyness represents a war on our natural rhythms that demand quiet and renewal in order to be emotionally, spiritually, and creatively fertile.”
Giving yourself rest will bless those around you. You will be a better parent, friend and co-worker for it.
Work…Rest…Work…Rest…

Franti has rhythm, how about you?
It is a simple concept, but not easy! Start by taking 10 minutes of your day. Set your alarm earlier and get some time to yourself before the rest of the house is awake. Or, get away over your lunch break and take a walk or sit in your car and quiet your mind.
“Rock with me
Can you hear the sound
A little bit of rhythm makes the world go ‘round”…Michael Franti
Have a great week!
